Who I want to be

Here I am...

Sitting. Thinking. Sitting. Thinking. Sitting some more. Thinking some more.

Who am I? Who do I want to be? When someone says my name, what will they think? What do I want them to think?

I want my name to be a good name. I want to be thought of as a good person. I want to make an lasting impression in someones life. I want to make a difference -and- be a good person at the same time. I want to be a role model. I want to be someone that someone else looks up to or admires.

I know I can't be the perfect person, but on a daily basis I try to be the best person that I know how to be. I do not do this just for the people I love, but for people in general. Everyone needs to be loved and everyone needs to be cared about.

I try to live by the "golden rule". Treat others the way you want to be treated. By all means, I am not perfect, I have my days, and I recognize this, but I sure put every effort into making people happy as much as I can.

I care about people a lot. That may be where I falter and get my heart broken or my hopes too high. I have lost a lot of friends. Friends that I did care and still care greatly about. Whether they care about me is a different story, and frankly, it doesn't matter to me.

I want to be cared for too, but I would give all of my love for someone before ever asking for love in return. I hope people see this in me because it's truly how I feel. I wear my emotions on my sleeve and have love for others engraved in me.

I want to be known as a good person. A person who cares about others.

I'm not sure why I wrote this, but I have just been thinking about a lot of things recently.

For instance, One of my good friends just deployed to Afghanistan and I found myself really caring for how he felt before he left and now I catch myself worrying about him and thinking about him. A lot.

Also, I have had dreams with my Grandfather appearing and every time I wake up I remember the message that was said the day of his funeral. And the preacher said, "What will your name mean to others?"

I hope I have made a difference in someone's life and if I have not, I will. That is my goal in life. That is who I am.

The Big Day

So the big day is coming up! As in the big day I mean MOVING day. Ah.

I'm getting excited, but I'm also getting very nervous. We are renting through Penske and we are towing my car...yes, I said, "towing". That's where I start to get nervous. In order to "tow safely" we have to rent a 16' truck! We don't even have enough stuff to fill that thing! We didn't buy a whole lot of stuff because we knew this was coming and anticipated a move across country.

We anticipated right. The move from California to South Carolina with a SIXTEEN FOOT truck WHILE TOWING A CAR will be difficult. I'm stressed, to say the least.

The flip side? We are actually going to be able to stop in Missouri and Ohio along the way. My husband took a little over 2 weeks of leave! We get to stop in Missouri to see his sister (that's where she is going to college) and we are stopping by Ohio to get my bedroom furniture from my parents house, along with several other items (thanks, mom and dad!).

I'm just excited to be able to get back to a bit of "normalcy". I'm actually able to be with my husband!! The longest period of time that we have lived together is 5 months. Can it PLEASE be a little longer than that this time?! PLEASE!! :)

So excited.

So, if you see a Penske truck like the one pictured below, puling a trailer with a purple Cobalt, honk and waive!! That'll be us! HA! Look at that thing...oh man. STRESSED!!!

Mean Girls

Let me start off by saying people -astound- me.

Saying that, let me go on to explain...err...complain.

I've been hanging out with a pretty good group of girls recently. Yes, I said it, I've been hanging with the ladies. It's strange to me because I would rather hang with the guys...probably for this exact reason I am blogging tonight.

What drives girls to gossip and make fun of other girls? Why are people so mean? Do you think it's right to make fun, gossip, and just say mean and outrageous things about other people? Especially people that you don't know, but are in the same situation and lifestyle that you are in? Absolutely not. Or so I thought.

When I was little I was always told "don't judge a book by it's cover". Now let me say, I am not miss innocent. I have faults of my own and I have lived and am still living and learning from my mistakes.

I just don't understand why people think it's humorous to sit and make fun of people. When us girls hang out we don't make fun of people...ever. Is that because we are more mature then that? Or is it that we are just nicer? I'm not sure. I think it's more along the lines of that we are comfortable in our own skin. We don't need to put others down to make us feel better about ourselves.

What are we all actresses on "Mean Girls" and we have to be a part of a "Burn Book"?

No. I think NOT.

It's just wrong.

Grow up.

End of story.

Getting to Know You

So I have decided to put "Picnik it Sunday" on leave for a little while due to lack of participation. If anyone is still interested in it, let me know, if not I will terminate it for good.

On another note, here's this weeks getting to know you with MannLand5.

1. If you accidently knick a car in a parking lot..Do you leave a note or do you get the heck out of there?
It depends on what kind of "knick". If it doesn't do any serious damage, I would leave. If it is serious damage then, yes, I would leave a note. I was just explaining to my husband how my doors have been beat to pieces by people in the parking lot and how it makes me mad that I've paid so much money just for someone else to ruin it.

2. Love your body or plastic surgery?
I wouldn't go as far as saying that I "love" my body. I don't think I should change the way I look just to please myself or a man. God made me the way I am, I shouldn't be dissatisfied enough to change what He has given me. But, that's just me! :)

3. What about your favorite blog(s) continues to drive you back?
The since of humor, knowledge of military, and just the way I can relate to some of the milspouse bloggers!

4. What percent of your blog is BS just to make your life seem more interesting than it really is?
None. Honestly. None of it is made up. Heck, I sometimes don't even have anything to say so I don't even get on...I need to be better about that. Oh and by the way, I can't BS anything! I was so bad about that in school!

5. If you had to give up one type of meat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Fish. I like fish and I have eaten it my whole life, but it's not my all time favorite. If I had to give up chicken, beef, or pork then we'd have some trouble!

6. How often to you eat out?
Recently, not much at all. When my husband and I live together, we don't think twice about eating out! I don't eat out very often because I am a penny pincher!

7. Skinny jeans or boot cut jeans?
I guess I'd have to say boot cut. I don't own a pair of skinny jeans, and I really haven't even thought about trying them on. I don't know how my body type would look in those. I'm already skinny enough, I don't think I'd want to show that off....

8. If you caught your spouse cheating would you forgive, divorce, or plan your kill?
Oh man. This one is in the "it depends" category also. It depends on what kind of cheating. I do not believe in divorce, but I do believe if your spouse commits adultery then it stands on solid ground to be divorced. Cheating and domestic violence are something I will not tolerate.

ORDERS!...Real ones.

We got orders!! and....they're REAL!

We are headed to....

Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, South Carolina!

It'll be bittersweet. We were wanting west coast so it'd be an easier move (and for other reasons), but now we're headed -back- across country to the east coast.

Of course, there will be pros and cons, but I'm getting more excited to go there each minute that goes by. I already have a good friend down there and I'm so excited to finally meet her! We should be moving within 3 weeks! How exciting...

:) SMILES!

Alright, just wanted to share. If anyone has any advice for the move let me know!!

Getting to Know You

Head on over to Mann Land 5's Getting to Know You Meme to link up if you'd like to participate. Also, please check out my Picnik it Sunday Meme today! I'd love to have more participation!

1. If you could host a Reality TV show, which one would it be?
Army Wives! That's a no brainer!!! :)

2. Do you put your seatbelt on before or after you start the car?
Directly after. I never put the car in drive until my seatbelt is on. I learned a lesson right after my 18th birthday to always wear a seatbelt. Why? Because! You could get an 85 dollar ticket like me, or much worse things could happen. Result; lesson learned.

3. Shave or hair removal cream?
Shave! Just because I could never get those hair removal creams to work! HA!

4. What's your favorite feature in a house?
The living/family room, just because it tends to bring family together, whether it's watching movies or playing games.

5. What is your favorite "Fall" scent?
Cinnamon spice! Mmhm. I love anything to do with cinnamon!

6. What tv show are you looking forward to seeing the most this Fall??
Grey's Anatomy, without a doubt.

7. Personal Shopper or Personal Chef?
Personal Shopper.

8. What is the first word that comes to mind when you think of "Fall"?
That's a hard one! Ha. I'd have to say soccer or deer hunting! I love fall just for those reasons alone!

Asdfjkl

lashf;aioghakjsdh;fjghakjhgkjhfaklshgfhlahsfkagjsdhgljhagjhwaelf....whew.

That was a close one.

Can you say that I'm a bit frustrated? Oh, I mean, a bit -beyond- frustrated. But, it wouldn't be the military if I wasn't frustrated. Nothing is simple, nothing.

Orders. Uh-oh. I said the "O" word.

Okay. So we were given orders a couple weeks ago online to Yuma, Arizona for our permanent duty station. The only problem with that is that my husband won't be able to do his job there in Yuma. It's impossible. He'd have to switch aircraft or go somewhere else. This was all told to him by his instructor, who is the first person in his chain of command.

So, being that this was a couple weeks ago we knew they had to change something. Welp, his class was given final orders today, and guess what...

We are still going to Yuma. That's what he told me on his lunch break, so I poked and proded and told him he needed to make sure it wasn't a mistake because it would be
really bad if we got there and he couldn't do his job. Then life would be a living you-know-what. He asked.

A couple hours later I get a frantic "I'm freaking out" text. Sgt says we can't be heading there. It's all impossible.

Hmm? Isn't that the -same- thing we just established two weeks ago?!?!

Next question. What are they going to do about it?

The only thing they can do is A) change his job or B) change his duty station. He wants them to change his job.

Who knows what will happen, but he was told he'd find out in the next couple of days. I'll give them til Wednesday.

I know it'll all work out, it's just frustrating to be yanked around. Everyone else knows in his class, why can't we know? Why do we always get shafted?!?! Only us.

Grrr....

If we're not stressed, someone isn't doing they're job right.

That is all! :)

Hormonal, much?

So the last 3 months since my husband has been gone, I have lived with a woman who is expecting her second baby. She is about 33 weeks along and I have found that it is in fact true that there are sympathy pains! I wasn't so sure of the whole theory until today!

I've been around her 24/7 and we are very good friends.

She's pointed out that I have had some cravings, but I didn't really think much about it. I have been really craving lemonade and chocolate. No, not together, but nonetheless. ha.

Anyway, today, I was very very moody and I got extremely stressed out. All we did was go out with several ladies around lunch for several hours. They all had their children and we didn't really have a time schedule or anything to accomplish. While with them I just wanted to lay in the floor and give up. I was stressed! I don't know why, but I do know that I was ready to kick some butt. Whether it was the lady behind me in line who kept touching me and saying "sorry hun" or the old man moving so slowly in front of me pushing his shopping cart. It was insane.

Then, my husband calls. I'd been waiting an hour and a half longer then I do on a daily basis to hear from him. He knew something was up. I told him that I was picking up pregnancy sympathy hormones and I was stressed, so he mockingly/jokingly said he was stressed from the same thing. I snapped! I told him I wasn't in the mood for his BS. It was bad! Then, shortly after I apologized. He had been so good to me throughout the entire day, there was no reason for me to act that way. I knew I was wrong and felt horribly. :( He did accept my apology and I promised I'd be better the next time we talked. I was. :)

It was just insane to me that I could be picking up these hormones from no where. Well, I guess it's not "no where", but still! It's insane! I guess it could essentially be based on the same thing as hanging out with a bunch of women all the time and starting your period simultaneously.

So I had to share. Has any of you had the same thing happen? How about with your husband? Has he had sympathy pains through your pregnancy? I mean, I've never been pregnant, I've just had this experience and I wonder what it'll be like when I do get pregnant. :)

Getting to Know Me

1. What kind of athlete has the hottest body?
I would have to say that soccer players have the hottest bodies!! Those abs, back and legs!! Mmhmm. :)

2. Are you a planner or a procrastinator?
Okay, so over all I would have to say that I'm a procrastinator! As much as I try to plan things out just right, I usually wait to the last minute. The Marine Corps also hasn't helped matters much! Haha...they wait til the last minute to tell us anything, so maybe it's becoming a habit...sigh.

3. Diet or regular (soda)?
Regular. Oh and I call it pop hahaha.

4. What's your one "must have" for Fall?
Hmm. I really haven't thought about it. I'd love to have some cowboy boots or maybe a new purse. Really, I'm not sure.

5. What's your favorite fast food restaurant?
Arby's! I'd choose that over anything else, but after living on the west coast, I've come to find out that Jack in the box is great too!!

6. What do you think is the sexiest profession for a guy?
A Marine, duh!! Those uniforms are so sexy! Haha.

7. Did you wear braces?
Yes! For the longest time ever! Like 7 years! GEESH!

8. Would you rather have a guy that's super sexy or kind?
Super kind. Personality always outweighs body.

Orders

Okay so we got our orders for our PDS. We're headed to MCAS Yuma, Arizona.

Or so we think.

There's not an F/A 18 squadron at Yuma. This creates a problem. It means that my husband won't be able to do his job.......

So, here we are, less than a month away and supposedly we're moving to Yuma, or are we? When will we know for sure? We have no idea.

The end.

Sigh.
